We were approached by the owners of this listed timber framed cottage as they had experienced some difficulty obtaining planning permission for works at the house. We designed two extensions to the property, one incorporating an oak frame and extending the house to the rear to provide a kitchen with views over open countryside. The second two-storey extension on the side of the house provides utility room and cloakroom accommodation on the ground floor and an en-suite bathroom on the first floor.
This design met with the approval of the planners and conservation officer, breaking the impasse and enabling the project to proceed. We prepared detailed working drawings and oversaw the works through to completion.
