The Brief

petersigfrid3 250Our survey commissions take us to many interesting properties and locations but none more so than Stockholm.  David Ensom recently visited the city to undertake a quinquennial inspection of St Peter and St Siegfried’s, the Anglican church in the city.  Originally built in the 1860s to a recognisably British design, the church was moved stone by stone to its present site in 1913.  Although the building is substantially in good condition, recent storm damage to the spire and the need to improve the heating system led the church to seek our advice.  We produced a comprehensive report providing advice on future maintenance priorities and proposals for heating and lighting in the church.  Between them Martin Hall and David Ensom are now quinquennial inspectors for some fifty churches but this is our first outside the UK.
