St Olaves, London

Following our initial commission to undertake a major condition survey of a grade 2 listed building beside Tower Bridge in central London, we have been further commissioned to advise on and oversee repairs to the building.

The former St Olave's Grammar School, built largely in the late 19th century, has been empty for some 15 years and is suffering from the effects of years of neglect. The building has been purchased by a leading Indian hotels group and is to be converted into their flagship London 5* hotel.

Our brief was to identify defects in the historic fabric and advise on appropriate methods of restoration and repair. A team of three surveyors spent three days on site inspecting and recording every part of the building and reviewing the approved conversion proposals.

Subsequently we have arranged further investigative work, drafted specifications for repairs and continue to oversee the repair works, supporting the architects as the project continues.
