Extension to Listed Cottage, Surrey

Surreycottage main
  • 16th century timber framed cottage
  • Grade 2 listed
  • Replacement extension designed
  • Planning permission sought and approved

Design of replacement extension to early 16th century timber framed cottage. The existing extension, built in 1993, was not in keeping with the historic look and feel of the original cottage and also its construction had an adverse impact on the timber frame of the cottage. The new extension, which is to be set 2m away from original timber and connected with glass link, will be more sympathetic to the historic fabric of the cottage and more visually pleasing.
