Ever since the practice was created in 1993 we have undertaken projects for churches in Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and further afield. These have included everything from complex major refurbishment and remodelling projects of up to £1.1m in value to simple schemes introducing modern kitchen and toilet facilities. Many of the buildings are listed, and we have worked for a number of Anglican diocese and Methodist Circuits.

Projects include:

  • TRINITY CHURCH, READING - £180k project for combined Anglican/Methodist church; extensions to form new entrance, new chapel, and internal alterations to provide new kitchen and toilets.

  • ST MARKS, CHELTENHAM – interior remodelling and refurbishment.

  • MORTIMER METHODIST CHURCH, BERKSHIRE - £145K scheme to provide new combined entrance to church and hall, new toilets, and various internal and external improvements including getting rid of flat roofs.

  • BARNES METHODIST CHURCH, SOUTH WEST LONDON – an £850k major remodelling of this 600 seat church. The balcony was removed and a new first floor constructed, moving the worship space upstairs to free up the ground floor for meeting rooms, a chapel, office, toilets and a large kitchen.

  • ST JOHN THE EVANGELIST, NEWBURY – 50 year old grade 2 listed church needing major roofing works and internal repairs.

  • CHRISTCHURCH, TADLEY, HAMPSHIRE – full architectural design of new combined Anglican and Methodist church. Planning permission obtained but project shelved due to impact of economic downturn on land values.

  • BURFORD BAPTIST CHURCH – internal repairs

  • WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH, READING – installation of a lift within the listed church building; feasibility study for £250k scheme to install a first floor in the large hall, to create additional meeting spaces.

  • MAIN ROAD METHODIST CHURCH, TADLEY – our first church project, replacing the dilapidated church hall with a two storey extension providing a new hall, meeting rooms, toilets and kitchen. New main entrance and the internal remodelling of the church.

We are also the appointed Quinquennial Inspectors for some 50 or more churches and manses and retain close working relationships with these churches.
